Vanessa & Leland Wallace
Vanessa Wallace is a graduate of San Jose State University (B.A. Music) and has over 25 years of teaching experiencing in both the public and private education sectors, including six years teaching elementary grades K-3. She is the co-owner and principal operator of Wallace Music Studio.
As a mother of five children, four of whom have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum and one with learning disabilities, she is a strong advocate for special education reform and mental health causes. She served in various roles, including Chair, during her seven years on the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education, was a member of the community advisory board for the Northern California cohort of the CAADRE-SEED (Study to Explore Early Development) study, Phase 1 for three years, and is an active Girl Scout Leader in the Girl Scouts of Northern California Council.
Leland Wallace is a Senior Software Engineer at Apple, Inc. Employed with the company since 1989, he is currently the Mac OS X Server Platform Lead, Server Security DRI and has developed three patents during his time there. In his spare time, Leland is active in the Maker, RepRap, and 3D printing communities and was a founding investor in TechShop San Jose. He is the owner of Wallace Educational Services, which provides STEM curriculum design and consultation. He is the proud father of five children and, along with his wife, advocates for special education and mental health causes. He graduated with a BS in Computer & Information Sciences in 1989, UC Santa Cruz.
